- Papers should be e-mailed to the journal in the form of a Word format attachment. They should be typed double-spaced, using Times New Roman, size 12. Papers should not exceed 8,000 words, including references, tables, maps, appendices, etc. Book reviews should not exceed 1,500 words.
- Authors must include an Arabic and an English abstract, each one not exceeding 200 words, typed double-spaced and on a separate sheet. Up to five keywords should be listed at the end of each abstract.
- The cover page of the manuscript should have the title of the paper, the name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s), along with contact addresses, (e-mail, fax and telephone).
- Figures and diagrams should be on A4 glossy paper. Maps and charts should be on tracing paper, drawn in black Chinese ink.
- The reference system is the APA. The reference section, listed in an alphabetical order, should have all the works cited in the paper and no others.

Journal of Arts & Social Sciences (JASS) is a refereed, scholarly journal published by the College of Arts and Social Sciences at Sultan Qaboos University, Muscat, Oman. The journal publishes three issues a year and welcomes research of current interest for international scholars in both English and Arabic in the arts, humanities and social sciences. All articles are subjected to a double blind peer-review process. Submissions are reviewed September-May.
