Abstract

Abstract: The study aimed to find out the impact of a counseling program based on play in reducing hyperactivity among kindergarten children from the viewpoint of teachers and mothers. The quasi-experimental approach was used. A purposive sample was chosen from Educational Growth Kindergarten in Bidya town /Palestine which consisted of (28) children represented in 2 equal groups, one of which was a control group and the other was an experimental group. The experimental group underwent the play-based counseling program which lasted for 6 weeks at a rate of 3 sessions weekly. Post-scale was applied to both groups, and tracking scale to experimental group after 3 months. Results showed that: there is no statistically differences between control group for pre and post-applications; there is a statistical differences between control and experimental groups in the post application in favor of experimental group; there is a statistically significant difference between experimental group of pre and post applications in favor of post-application; there is no statistically significant differences between experimental group between post and follow-up applications. The study confirmed the impact of this program in reducing manifestations of hyperactivity among kindergarten children and recommended that it should be used to help children with hyperactivity.
