Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine sources of psychological stress among basketball players in Palestine and the differences in sources of psychological stress according to playing position and experience. To achieve this aim, a 26-item questionnaire was administered to 96 basketball players in Palestine. The results revealed that the level of psychological stress among basketball players in Palestine was low, where the percentage of responses was 58.1%. Also, the results indicated that there were no significant differences in sources of psychological stress among basketball players in Palestine due to either playing position and experience. Based on the findings of the study, the researcher recommends that players’ abilities be utilized in light of the nature and requirements of the sports competition.
